What is Cruise Travel Insurance?
If you’re planning to embark on a cruise ship for an amazing adventure, you’ll want to make sure you have the right protection for your journey. That’s why you should consider Cruise Travel Insurance from AllClear, a special kind of insurance that covers the unique situations and risks that can happen on a cruise.
With Cruise Travel Insurance, you can enjoy benefits like cabin confinement cover, which helps you if you have to stay in your cabin due to illness.
Cruise Travel Insurance is available as an optional extra on our Gold and Gold Plus policies, giving you the flexibility and choice to tailor your cover to your needs*.
You can add cruise cover to Single Trip Travel Insurance or Annual Multi-Trip Travel Insurance, depending on your plans.
- Medical expenses covered up to $15,000,000.
- Cancellation and Curtailment covered up to unlimted costs.
- Personal Belongings covered up to $7,000.
Why do you need specialist Travel Insurance for a cruise?
Cruises have unique risks that require special insurance coverage. For example;
- Cabin confinement
- Missed port departure
Regular Travel Insurance does not cover these situations, so you need to include the optional Cruise Cover benefit.
You also need to tell us all the countries your ship will visit or stop at, even if you don’t plan to get off the ship.
Some cruise lines might ask you to show proof of Travel Insurance before you board the ship. You can do this by showing a printout or a digital copy of your policy documents. Getting Cruise Travel Insurance will help you avoid being turned away and protect you during your trip.
What our customers say
What country do you select within the quote journey if you are going on a cruise?
For a single trip policy, please enter all countries which you are travelling both to and through.
For an annual multi-trip policy, please select the relevant region, such as Worldwide excluding America.
Please note you can only enter up to 9 destinations. If you’re going to more than 9 destinations, you will need to enter the destination that is the furthest away and this will then ensure that the region is categorised to cover all destinations with that region. For more information about declaring the destinations on your quote, please take a look at this help article.
